The Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) announces its nominations, the names of the winners, and the new scholarship for its 2018 edition.

2018 marks the 5th year of the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards. The Gala is taking place on April 20th at the Fairmont Royal York (100 Front Street West) in Toronto, where the winners of CAFA will be announced.

On Wednesday evening, January 31st, this year’s CAFA nominations were announced amongst the fashion industry’s top celebrities.

On April 20th you can expect CAFA to honour the ALDO group, the 2018 winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award, and Nadja Swarovski, the winner of the international fashion prize for her significant contribution to the international fashion industry.

You’ll also see the  presentation of the Suzanne Rogers Design Scholarship for International Development, which will go to an outstanding Canadian fashion designer or brand that has demonstrated significant impact, growth, and maturity, spreading its wings to expand into the international market. This winner will get a $20,000 scholarship and be chosen for a panel of three judges: Suzanne Rogers, Erdem Moralioglu (Montreal designer), and Wayne Clark (Canadian fashion icon).

To celebrate this fifth anniversary, the Gala will include an arts and fashion event filled with a unique photographic exhibition, XPOSED. This exhibition will include a theme of “The Disruptors Series,” led by the creative direction of George Antonopoulus and honorary president of the exhibit, Lady Fag. This will be the unveiling of the photographs, which will later be available for purchase, with profits donated to several organizations benefiting mental health.

Tickets for the Gala are on sale on CAFAwards.ca.
