Since the inception of COS, the brand has constantly sought out  inspiration from the world of art and design which has had a direct impact on collections. It comes as no surprise that COS announced on May 5th, at the Dea:Beacon,  its partnership with the Dia Art Foundation particularly supporting a major presentation of early sculpture by Korean artist Lee Ufan. The artist has been a great inspiration to the COS creative team and in order to give back, the brand has been collaborating with diverse designers, architects, galleries and the like worldwide in order to honour their philanthropy of nurturing creative exploration.

The exhibition at Dea:Beacon unveils Ufan’s longing to present the world “as-it- is” through the relationships between natural and man-made materials and encounters between objects, viewers, and space.

The exhibition features five large-scale works and three installations by Ufan that were recently acquired by Dia: Relatum(formerlySystem, 1969), Relatum(formerlyLanguage, 1971), andRelatum(1974) and will be on exhibit will be on view for two years, encouraging long-term engagement with Lee’s work.

In celebration of this year’s partnership COS have created an embossed leather document folio in deep brown with a portion of the proceeds  donated to Dia.
