Lebanese born designer Elie Saab is a self-taught fashion talent.

At the young age of 18, Saab opened his first couture atelier in Beirut managing a little over a dozen employees as he mastered his craft. His first collection was presented only a few months afterwards to a public of women whom he instantly won over with the beauty and extravagance of his art. With a reputation that rapidly transcended Beirut’s borders, he attracted a clientele of high society women who all wanted an Elie Saab dress.

Today, Saab is a corresponding member and invited guest of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and shows not only his couture collections in Paris, but his read-to-wear ones as well. With Cannes being the highlight of the month, it was only natural that celebrities chose Saab as one of the more popular designers to dress them as they walked the red carpet. As he magnifies the femininity of women working with fine materials, delicate embroideries with outstanding quality, he builds the fairytale dream with simple designs, precious resources all while maintaining a form of sophistication.

His specialty is the ultimate dress that highlights a woman’s silhouette and the 67th Cannes Film Festival was the perfect opportunity for women to do so.
