Farewell Holt’s Café

I used to have this habit of stopping by Holt’s Café in Montreal before every fancy event to get my snack on. There was something about the overall posh vibe of the place that was a perfect fit to eat while wearing a not very practical white dress. When I learned that Holt would close all of them, I wonder what would come next to take their place.

Within a week, it was made public that Chase Hospitality Group and Holt Renfrew announce a national culinary partnership to open Colette Grand Café in five of the luxury retailer’s locations across Canada. Commencing early 2018, the French-inspired restaurant will replace Holts Café in Edmonton, Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto’s Yorkdale and Bloor Street locations.

“It seemed like a natural fit for Holt Renfrew to partner with a brand that has an equal reputation in hospitality as they do in luxury retail. Colette Grand Café embodies the stylish and sophisticated dining experience and is a perfect fit to complement Holt Renfrew’s luxury retail offering” explains Steven Salm, President of Chase Hospitality Group.

Which means that pretty soon, you would be able to feast on some moules frites (Salt Spring Island mussels with white wine), croque monsieur, omelettes, and crème brulée. We are sure Amélie herself would approve.
