UPDATE 06/10/14: It has been confirmed via Renzo Rosso (president of the OTB group) that Galliano will make his comeback with Maison Martin Margiela.

All will be revealed in a matter of months at the Paris Haute Couture shows scheduled for January, but page six has recently reported that John Galliano will be staging a “bigger and better” comeback to the runway with a couture collection for Maison Martin Margiela.

There has been no official creative director named for the house of Maison Martin Margiela since the leave of its namesake reclusive founder in 2009, and the house since then has been without someone at the head of its creative helm aside from a team of collectives and the label’s head designer Matthieu Blazy who has also interned for John Galliano in the past. Now, a source tells page six, “Galliano has been talking to Margiela to take the brand into haute couture. He has already hired five or six staff members for his atelier in Paris.”

Renzo Rosso, the majority shareholder in Margiela and president of OTB, the parent company of brands including Diesel, Marni and Viktor & Rolf addressed the rumours regarding the rumours with Galliano by denying then saying, “Who wouldn’t like to work with him? If he ever got back his name, I would be the first to produce his collections.”
