Jonathan is a hair care line that makes 100% Vegan, paraben and sulfate free products. In keeping with a sustainable approach, the company also abides by a strict eco-friendly manufacturing and packaging process. We started off with their Green Routine Nourishing shampoo, which uses a combination of vitamins A, B complex, C, D, and E, folic acid for strength, and aloe-vera to relieve dry scalp. As well as other natural ingredients like avocado, coconut, jojoba and olive to bring moisture that is not too heavy, even for very thin hair. It also includes essential oils that protect from chemicals and impurities from the environment, smoothing out the surface of your scalp and hair. If you are new to the world of natural shampoos, you should know that they don’t lather as much as regular shampoos. By looking at the list of ingredients, the actual detergents are salt and orange peel oil, which explains the fact that there is even less lather than most. You do have to step and repeat, but it’s quite easy with the foam dispenser which makes it easier to distribute the shampoo.
The Styling Cream’s ingredient list also comes up pristine with no silicones or polymers, being mostly made of natural butters, oils, and waxes. Great to style curly or dry hair. Just work the product into dry or damp hair and either blow dry it, or let the curls form by air-drying. For straight/dry hair you can use it for a beachy look: just roll hair into a bun and sleep on it over night to form loose waves. You can also use it as a pomade during the day to tame frizzy hair.
We also tried the dry shampoo which comes in 4 different hair shades: blonde, red, brunette and black. It absorbs oils and puffs up the roots without any chemical, made with oatmeal flour and pigments. Especially great for black and brunette hair, the dry shampoo vanishes into hair without a trace.
