There is nothing more inspiring than a success story, and Herieth Paul already has one to tell with only 20 years behind her. Her short hairdo has surely contributed to her success, defying the standards of beauty, a real breath of fresh air in this industry that seems to have a preference for the blond, blue eyes, and pale skin.

Nominated as Model of the Year at the annual Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards, we couldn’t be more proud of what she has accomplished so far. This “it girl” already worked for big names like Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, and Rad Hourani. And we’re about to see a lot more of Herieth as she just recently landed the title of global spokesmodel for Maybelline New York. Joining a team of strong women such as Adriana Lima, Jourdan Dunn, Gigi Hadid and Christy Turlington, Paul is about to show the world what Canadians are made of.

Also ranked as a money girl on models.com, Herieth uses her paycheck for a good cause. She’s the reason why many girls in Tanzania can afford an education, and having sat in a classroom with under-qualified teachers before her move to Ottawa at 11 years old, you can bet that she’s putting some philanthropic work on her bucket-list.

Herieth has been a familiar face at Dress To Kill shooting multiple editorials as well as a cover shoot. Here are some of our favorite shots of this Canadian beauty!
