‘Cause music can be better than wine

I am sure I’m not the only one feeling right now like I just “can’t freakin human”. I mean, it’s not that I hate everybody, but the idea of hiding at home under many blankets with a hot coffee while spending way too much time on Instagram is way more appealing than making small talk with people at a party. Since we are living in a world where we have to socialize with others at least twice a week (I checked), I put together a playlist of songs to survive the cold days with a smile on your face.

For when you have to take the bus-metro-jump inside a Uber

Girl by Jamie xx

Runner up: You Look Great When I’m Fucked Up by Brian Jonestown Massacre

There is something about this song that goes perfectly with looking at the city passing before your eyes while getting lost in your thoughts.

For when you had a short night and coffee is not working

Wait a Minute by Willow

Runner up: Dare by Gorillaz

Yes Willow like Willow Smith. The daughter of. But I swear, it’s the kind of song that makes you shake your head to the beat as soon as you hear the first notes. You might even end up dancing in the streets on your way to work.

For when you are missing someone and want to snap out of it

Snap Out Of It by Arctic Monkeys

Runner up: About Today by The National

We’ve all been there. You can’t stop thinking about someone and you think it’s time to move on. The title of this song is pretty self-explanatory and also, the voice of Alex Turner always makes miracles for the morale.

For when you are going through a life crisis

Bitter by Palace

Runner up: 715 Creeks by Bon Iver

I discovered this band thanks to the god that is Spotify and got hooked on some of the lyrics like Why am I bitter, bitter, bitter?/Why am I always let it stay?/It’s gonna get better, better, better.

For when you’re having a good day and you want to keep it that way

Am I Wrong by Anderson .Paak

Runner up: New Song by Warpaint

Listening to Anderson .Paak music has the same effect as drinking coconut water under the sun somewhere on a beach. Trust me, you only want to listen to his album Malibu when you’re under the impression that someone is about to pop your bubble of happiness.

For when you are feeling like it’s actually ok to be sad

Tonight by Lykke Li

Runner up: Obsolete by Regina Spektor

She doesn’t want you to let her go and you know you can’t since all you want to do is cry beautifully with her.

For when you have absolutely no idea how you are feeling

This song appeared in my inbox this morning and I’ve been listening to it on a loop since. There is something so soothing about it and it might be all you need after all to make it through fall.
