Breaking gender boundaries is no longer just about women in tuxes on the red carpet. it’s about unapologetic femininity with a slight masculine twist.

Last month, Mélodie Pilon gave new meaning to “menswear-inspired” when she launched delicate silk Ties for Her, made in Italy and designed exclusively for women, in our very own Montreal. It looks like all those years of tying your boyfriend’s tie finally have meaning, but unlike his tie, your MÉLODIE tie can be tied in multiple ways.

As a self-proclaimed girly-girl, my menswear proclivities are always accompanied by bows and flared skirts, so nothing excites me more than a traditionally masculine accessory being transformed into something dainty, whimsical, and ultra feminine. Each tie has a signature touch of lace at the back and is personified by names like Charlotte, Lola, Lily, and Jade to give each one its own unique personality. Prices range from $90-$115 on

Take a look at some ties from the S/S 16 lookbook below.
