Some people are just born to stand out.

In G-Star Raw’s latest campaign for SS19, they’ve established just that. Confident and outspoken, they are celebrating the strong, confident personalities that go against the grain. And who better to personify this than Australian model and actress, Ruby Rose.

The notable name perfectly embodies the G-Star brand. She’s been tapped to star as DC’s first openly gay superhero in the upcoming series Batwomen, but first made waves internationally when she became a universal crush in Netflix’s Orange is the New Black. A far cry from her humble beginnings in Australia’s Girlfriend model search in 2002.

It’s a missed opportunity to simply fit in, and no one knows that better than Rose. She’s teamed up with the legendary denim brand to celebrate those who embrace their individuality – those who know they were born to stand out.

“I’ve always been a fan of G-Star, their attitude really aligns with my passion and respect for our planet. In this specific campaign, I love how G-Star motivates us to embrace who we are and feel confident in doing so. Denim has a magical way of attributing to that confidence,” Rose says.

The campaign, appropriately titled, “It’s you. Own it”, encourages us all to love the things that make us different. Launched April 15th, we were so excited to see the world “own it” – in their G-Stars, of course.
