Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week just wrapped up, where Maybelline New York worked their beauty magic for the fall 2013 runway. The five days of fashion showed two distinct beauty trends: bold lips and a fresh face.

Designers had models sport rich hues on their lips; from reds to plum-burgundies (like the beautiful shade worn at Lacerda, Maybelline’s SuperStay Lipstick in Wine & Forever ), the look was all about a standout pout. As seen at Mackage, VAWK, Chloe Comme Parris and more, the rest of the makeup was kept neutral, with little emphasis on the eyes and cheeks. Pink tartan and Rudsak opted for a more natural look of all-over, barely-there makeup made up of dewy skin and natural lips, easily achieved with beauty favourites such as BB Cream and sheer gloss.

These runway beauty trends are easily wearable; fall’s best friend is a wine lip and a fresh face will never go out of style. Though the cold of autumn is still far away, it’s never too early to plan your beauty wardrobe in advance, especially when the trends call for such simple beauty staples.

Nails were kept simple but striking, as Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman & Revlon Nail Expert Leeanne Colley created a graphic look for Lucian Matis. “The inspiration for this look was Lucian’s gorgeous, monochromatic colour palette while incorporating Safari Khaki tones to the eye. This look is also very much inspired by the 60s, specifically, the German model, Veruschka,” said Westman.

The rest of fashion week’s nails were done by Maybelline, where they used a purple shade at Lacerda, a matte black with glossy tips at MIZ by Izzy Camilleri, and a white with black tips at Mackage; all chic and simple enough to recreate at home.
