Getting ready with two Dress To Kill Editors in collaboration with CHANEL and Loews Hotel Vogue.

Ever wonder how our editors get ready for a lavish event?

You probably already know the usual drill (that we all go through) like weeks of prepping and searching for the perfect outfit. Here’s an inside look at our editors’ getting ready process, from beauty to fashion.

“Upon arriving at our Loews Hotel Vogue suite, we immediately started setting up our things and begun getting ready. I went for my go-to makeup look which is luminous skin, a natural bronzed smokey eye, and a statement lip.

For this look, I like to keep it very light on the eyes. I wore a light shimmery skin tone colour (CHANEL’s Ombre Essentielle in 45 Safari) to lightly accentuate the eyes.

I always keep it simple for the skin (skincare, primer, concealer, power, blush and of course, highlight). I always make sure to prime my skin for the makeup application to prolong the wear of the makeup – which is essential for a night out. I started by using CHANEL’s Hydra Beauty Mask to give my skin a boost of moisture and radiance. I then applied Le Blanc brightening makeup base, some concealer, and Joues Contraste in Rose Initial and Soleil Tan de Chanel to perfect my complexion.

Being the kind of girl who think of their lips as a fashion accessory, it was an obvious choice for me to wear CHANEL’s classic Rouge Allure lipstick in 99 Pirate. Wearing a glaring lipstick is my personal trick to looking instantaneously “glamed” up.

And, of course, my beauty routine wouldn’t be complete without a hint of Coco Mademoiselle.”

“I’m lucky enough to have a very talented makeup artist as colleague who I can totally trust. She knows what I like and she always makes me feel like the best version of myself. This means I was able ease my stress and concentrate on enjoying the moment. Since we were lucky enough to get ready in a beautiful suite at Loews Hotel Vogue -just a few minutes away from the ball- I took the time to feel like a character from a TV show living the dream in a posh city. Let’s just say I pinched myself a few times between putting on my dress and sipping on some bubbly.”

“Red lipstick is an essential part of Marie-Ève’s uniform – always put together – and, today is no exception! She wanted an overall soft look paired with a bold pop of color on the lips, so I used CHANEL‘s Les 4 Ombres 214 – Tissé Mademoiselle on her eyes to create a delicate smokey eye, Joues Contraste in Pink Explosion to accentuate her cheeks and CHANEL’s Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in 51 – La Bouleversante to add a bold and glamorous touch to her look.

“After removing my makeup and cleansing my face, I used La Nuit de Chanel to soothe and repair my skin during the night. I woke up with a plump, smooth, and luminous complexion. After a good night’s sleep, I integrated Le Weekend de Chanel into my beauty routine to replenish and renew my skin.
