Boss x Meissen are releasing a capsule Holiday Collection
Coming this November, German brands Boss and Meissen, a porcelain maker, are collaborating on a holiday capsule collection inspired by Meissen’s Big Five figurines.
By Luisa Tarantino
As a historic brand, founded in 1710, the Meissen brand has always stood for quality, craftsmanship, and design. Their Big Five collection, designed by the sculptor Maximilian Hagstotz, features animal imagery such as the African lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo, each of which are decorated with monochrome patterns emphasizing the animal’s traits.
Boss draws inspiration from these monochromatic designs for their holiday collection, with pieces for both men and women, as well as for five limited edition Meissen porcelain mugs, which will be available on in both Boss and Meissen stores worldwide. The collection includes casual and formal monochromatic pieces that feature Meissen’s five animal motifs embroidered or printed in an angular style, inspired by a traditional African wooden sculptures, on cashmere, silk, and leather.
As part of the collaboration, Hugo Boss will donate to the charity Elephants for Africa, which provides education and community outreach in Botswana.
The collection is available starting this November in Boss stores globally and at boss.com.
