American Dream

OllyMurs

X-Factor creator Simon Cowell calls singer Olly Murs “very, very, very cool,” but most Americans missed his X-Factor journey to stardom, as the show was aired for a British audience across the pond. After four number one singles and three successful albums in the U.K., Olly Murs now hopes his international smash “Troublemaker” will have no trouble taking off in North America.

Amirali to heat up Montreal with a Live show at Velvet

Amirali

Montreal is blessed with one of the best electronic music scenes in North America. We have events almost every day of the week regardless if it’s plus 22 or minus 20 outside. As a music lover, I was tickled pink when I saw that Amirali was playing along with Jay London, Myfrienderic and my personal favorite, The Doctors at Velvet nightclub in the Old Port on January 24th.

John & Yoko 2.0

Genesis P-Orridge & Marie Losier

Genesis P-Orridge and Marie Losier met purely by chance in a crowded Soho art gallery in 2006. Genesis was a familiar face, one that has been an unmistakable presence in the music scene for the past 30 years. Adam Cohen

[article in French] Continue reading

Perfomance

perfomance_001

From Prince, to Tokyo Hotel, rock n’ roll has always blurred the line between the sexes. After all, if you can play more than one instrument, why not play more than one gender? With a heady dose of androgyny, we flout expectations.

Tiger of Sweden Jeans have never been scared to dare. Like the world of emerging music, the brand is continually looking for originality and audacity. There’s a lot of fire behind this centennial label and it’s far from going out of style.
