I like to share on my Instagram stories photos of me when I was younger, most definitely not wiser and…blonder. Which means that since I was not really born with black jet hair, I often have to dye my lashes and eyebrows to make.

This is why I was also more than willing to try The Ten Spot brand new Lash Lift + Tint service. One way to think of a lash lift is like a perm for your eyelashes. Unlike a lash extension, a lash lift simply alters the shape and color of your natural lashes. The treatment basically involves boosting and lifting each individual lash, before tinting them for thicker, darker, longer looking lashes.

As for the Ten Spot, it is probably the cleanest beauty bar I have ever visited, even during Covid times. They describe themselves as the anti-beauty bar and aim to bridge the gap between upscale spas offering over-the-top services and at the other end of the spectrum, the cheap and oftentimes questionable salons.

But what really makes them standout is how much they care about cleanliness. They adhere to the most stringent hygiene standards and practices, going well above and beyond government regulations. Their cleanliness policies are the same in all their locations, making every place a safe environment.

As for my Lash Lift experience, it came to my appointment with bare lashes. The whole thing lasted beyond the 12 weeks limit and I can still see a difference in my lashes. Keep in mind that the average person sheds four to five lashes a day, so at five weeks, 30 to 40 percent of those “lifted” lashes will have been shed, with new ones growing in their place.

Would I try it again? Totally. Especially since it gives me the perfect “I woke up like this” look for all my Zoom meetings. Now my secret is out.
