Dream house in the heart of the desert
No this is not a mirage, your eyes do not deceive you. The Joshua Tree Residence is an all white housing structure made completely of shipping containers.
The outlandish Idea came from the mind of British architect James Whitaker. The structure was originally meant to used as an office in Germany, but is now going to be built as a home for a movie producer and his wife, whom currently live in LA.
Construction of the house has not yet begun. These photographs are actually ultra-realistic renderings of what the cargo container cluster will look like in the heart of the California desert.
The containers appear like a starburst with cubic solids reaching out in every which direction.
The contrast between the white of the structure and desert sand makes for maximum visibility. The Joshua Tree residence will be elevated off the ground by use of concrete columns.
