Coach x Michael B. Jordan launch Unisex Capsule inspired by Naruto
Coach and Michael B. Jordan, actor and global face of Coach menswear, have collaborated on a unisex capsule inspired by the actors’ cultural influences, community and his love of the anime and manga, Naruto.
Created in collaboration with VIZ Media, the new Coach x MBJ capsule collection combines Coach’s craftsmanship with Jordan’s love for functional fashion and the graphic world of anime and manga, featuring elements such as removable sleeves, tactical straps and elastic closures. The collection will feature parkas, jean jackets, pullovers, t-shirts, utility packs, and hybrid sneaker boots and will feature imagery from Naruto as well as the series’ “eye” motifs reimagined with Coach’s Retro C graphic.
As Jordan’s first foray into fashion design, the Coach x MBJ collection couldn’t represent him more. For Jordan, “it was important to design pieces that represent [his] cultural influences and [his] community” and that he could see his family, friends, and fans wearing. For Jordan, this collection is all about “bringing fresh perspectives and unique voices to the forefront.” Even more, Naruto Uzumaki’s story mirrors Jordan’s own narrative as an actor building bridges both inside and outside of Hollywood and reflects Coach’s commitment to community and courage.
To celebrate the collection, Coach will host global pop-ups in Japan, Malaysia, and the United States, a dedicated Coach experience in the VIZ Media booth at New York Comic Con (October 3rd to 6th), and a range of limited-edition t-shirts.
