Glenmorangie VOWS TO HELP PROTECT GIRAFFES
Glenmorangie is one of the world’s most prized single malt Highland whiskies, renowned for its smooth taste..

In 1887, Glenmorangie renovated their distillery, installing several technical innovations, including the tallest stills in Scotland in order to achieve a purer, smoother whisky. To this day, their stills remain the tallest in all of Scotland. They have necks the same height as an adult male giraffe, which has led to this majestic creature being adopted as a symbol of the brand.
Giraffe numbers have plummeted 30% in 30 years, with some types of giraffes critically endangered, according to Glenmorangie. In order to protect giraffes from possible extinction, Glenmorangie has teamed up with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. By supporting giraffe conservation, the Highland Distillery is deepening its commitment to the animal’s future.
In a concerted effort to aid the giraffe, Glenmorangie is pioneering a three-year partnership with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS). This two-pronged approach will support efforts to protect giraffes in the wild in Africa and provide a habitat for the animal at Edinburgh Zoo, which will play a vital role in their conservation.
To celebrate this initiative, why not give a go to one of the signature cocktails of the brand, inspired by the tall animal? If some might say that scotch cocktails are a waste of good whisky, it’s better to see it as an opportunity to explore the whisky’s distinct characteristics against fascinating flavours.
