Hamilton was enlisted to create a custom watch for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, TENET, set to release on August 27th in Canada. Hamilton designers and engineers collaborated with the film’s design team to create a unique watch, with features one can only dream of that Hamilton, as expert watchmakers, were trusted to bring to life. The watch took 18 months of preparation, technical production, and testing at the Swatch Group’s lab in Switzerland to create. Engineers decided to combine the display of the Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO with the advanced technology required for the film. Dozens of prop watches were available on set, with Hamilton engineers present to aid with the watch’s unique features.

So if you’re dreaming of owning the watch on John David Washington’s wrist, Hamilton is releasing a special edition Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO watch inspired by the custom watch they produced for the film as a celebration of the collaboration. The release is a limited edition drop, with only 888 examples available of each (888 of the blue model, and 888 of the red), a nod to the film title being a palindrome. This special edition version is cased in lightweight titanium and features a blue or red-tipped second hand referencing the key colours in the film, adding a touch of vibrancy to the watch’s sleek all-black aesthetic. The packaging as well, designed by Nathan Crowley, the production designer of the film, comes in a stunning special case that likewise draws from the film’s key colours, also containing clues to the film’s narrative.
