To Kill For:

Montreal-based brand 3.PARADIS‘ Spring/Summer 2020 collection, headed by Paris-born founder and Creative Director Emeric Tchatchoua, combines an array of textures, silhouettes, and strong graphic motifs to create a stunning, contemporary collection. Entitled “Three Little Birds”, the collection draws on themes of freedom, empathy, love, diversity, and unity.

One of the collection’s stand-out motifs — a crowd of hands reaching up to three white doves above –adorns an array of different pieces, from beautiful knit sweaters and jeans to satiny button-downs and sporty track jackets. Tailoring varies throughout - loose-fitting button-downs stand alongside a baggy suit and tapered jeans, with track jackets tailored according to Tchatchoua’s favoured silhouette. Featuring a consistent colour palette of baby blues, creams, whites, and black throughout, pieces like the leopard jeans or the distressed American-flag suit, and touches of bright green detailing, create eye-catching looks that add an interesting diversity to the collection, and different interpretations of the collection’s overall themes. Imagery from Tchatchoua’s hometown of Paris, in the form of a soft, lit-up Eiffel Tower, accentuate versions of the collection’s button-down and track jackets.

For those looking for subtler garments, the ‘World Citizen’ t-shirt/hoodie (available in black or white) and the reversible tote bag are, in our view, great must-have basics to add to your collection. All in all, the collection, just like 3.PARADIS’ last, yet again perfectly embodies 3.PARADIS’ self-proclaimed aesthetic of creating items that are “disruptive, chic and poetic.” One thing is for sure: the collection’s theme is, without a doubt, disruptive and poetic, offering a sense of beauty and power that we so desperately need in our times.
