Prolific Fashion Columnist and Professor/Creative Director at Montreal’s LaSalle College, Andrew McNally will be joining the DTK Team as a contributor of his very own segment, ‘Discover Weekly,’ where he will introduce us to incredible Canadian designers, brands, and creators in conjunction with his reporting on his Instagram.

So, who is Andrew McNally? A pillar in the Canadian and Québecois Fashion industry, Andrew McNally is not just one thing – he is a man of many talents. As he says himself,
“When asked what it is that I do for work, I like to joke that I am a fashion hybrid. I am lucky enough to work in various ways within this industry which I am passionate about. I am a fashion columnist at Journal de Montreal for which I write for different columns, including Mode de stars (Fashion of the Stars) and Dans la garde-robe de… (A Glimpse In His.Her Closet…). I also do image consulting for several performers and actors in the Quebec entertainment industry such as Eric Lapointe, Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, Marie-Élaine Thibert, Émily Bégin, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Annie Villeneuve, Kevin Parent and René Simard to name but a few. In addition, I work behind the scenes as an Artistic Director at many fashion events and fashion shows. The rest of my time is spent teaching fashion at LaSalle College.“
Apart from writing for many local media outlets, McNally has taken to social media to continue offering unique, expert content to give support to various brands, designers, and creators in various fields. Each day, McNally showcases a different creative, offering insight into their creative process and various aspects of their work/designs/brand. Lucky for us and for you, McNally will be contributing his unmatched expertise for DTK in Discover Weekly starting next week. In these difficult times, not only will Discover Weekly inspire us as all art does, but it will likewise give us the means to support local creators.
And what if you want to start your Canadian fashion education right now?
LaSalle College’s International School of Fashion, Arts and Design will be hosting a virtual E20, the annual event of the Fashion Marketing Program, in which Fashion Graduates will present their innovative final projects. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 28th at 7 pm.
The event will explore the themes of SUSTAINABILITY, COLLABORATION and INNOVATION through a variety of business concepts, and three experts from the industry will analyze the presentations of their respective segment and will determine the three finalist teams as well as the “Expert’s Choice Winner” for their segment. The event will be hosted by Debbie Zakaib from mmode, and other industry leaders will likewise be in attendance: Melissa Alessi from Frank and Oak as the Sustainability Expert, Eva Hartling from The Brand is Female as the Collaboration Expert, and Anick Beaulieu from C2 International as the Innovation Expert.
