Hans Koechling, a renowned Canadian Fashion Show Producer, Casting, and Artistic Director, celebrates 25 years of his high-profile production company, The Image Is. For over two decades, Koechling has been curating and producing world class, memorable events and fashion shows for Canadian and international luxury houses, designers, and lifestyle brands.
Having previously worked as a male model, Hans was exposed to the most prestigious catwalks and the world’s top runways. He became enraptured with the staging of fashion shows and began learning as much as he could about the process, from team coordination to technical knowledge and logistics in order to master the art of runway production. On his journey, Koechling moved up from assistant to stylist, and then from artistic director to casting director and producer. Having worked behind the scenes with incredible creatives at the top of the industry, Koechling was able to learn from this talent and find his own path.
For Koechling, the client is always the star. “They hire me to make their dreams come to life,” he posits. Specializing in turnkey services, he and his experienced production team bring clients’ vision to life with outstanding presentations and special events, generated to gain maximum exposure, that combine stellar state of the art venues with innovative concepts. Having an acute understanding of technical knowledge and logistics along with his spectacular creative direction, Koechling is able to ensure that everything from lighting to sound and staging are perfectly curated to bring a show to life.
In his 25 year career, Hans Koechling has worked for a variety of brands and companies, from Holt Renfrew, Hugo Boss, and Chanel to Birks, L’Oreal, and Victoria Beckham, proving his versatility and range on top of lending his creative eye to prestigious publications such as Vogue, GQ, and W Magazine among many.
But, Koechling’s career hasn’t only focused on big names. As a mentor to many, he has also supported and mentored sustainable, emerging, and Indigenous Canadian designers, including Fashion Schools and fashion designer programs such as as TOM* Emerging Menswear Designer Awards, SRFI Suzanne Rogers Fashion Institute, and TFI Toronto Fashion Incubator. In addition, Koechling has likewise leant his expertise to a variety of charities and organizations, such as the Quebec Lung Association, St.Mary’s Hospital Foundation, and the PK Subban Foundation for the Montreal Children’s Hospital among others. Currently, his company, the Image Is is focused on working with organizations that preserve life in order to speak for the ones that cannot be heard.
Having had an impressive, multi-faceted, multi-dimensional, and spectacular career so far, Dress to Kill wishes Hans a Happy 25th Anniversary, and looks forward to his continued work.
