Lupita Nyong’o joins Michael Kors’ Watch Hunger Stop
Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o joins Watch Hunger Stop in preparation for World Food Day on October 16th.

Michael Kors’ annual campaign to flight global hunger, Watch Hunger Stop, launches new theme this year, “Food is Love,” featuring star actress Lupita Nyong’o, known for such roles in 12 Years a Slave and Black Panther. The campaign, which is in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), “helps to fund meals for student, which has a direct impact on levelling the performance playing field for underprivileged students,” Lupita Nyong’o notes. “When students can eat, they perform better in school which in turn leads to greater opportunities in life.” In this way, Michael Kors’ campaign is facilitating better opportunities for women and girls.
For the “Food is Love” campaign, Michael Kors is releasing special edition products, including a unisex t-shirt ($48) and tote bag ($78) featuring the word “Love.” The products will be available for purchase at all Michael Kors lifestyle stores on October 1st. Even more, Michael Kors will donate 100 additional meals to the WFP if customers “wear it and share it,” by posting a selfie wearing the LOVE products online with the hashtag #watchhungerstop. All proceeds will likewise be donated to children in need through the WFP Programme.
