With winter in full swing, I tend to stay inside as much as possible, only leaving the house when it’s absolutely necessary. That being said, it’s no surprise that Netflix occupies most of my free time, becoming my number one source of entertainment. With new releases every month, here’s a glimpse of what I’ll be binge-watching during the cold nights ahead.

Meet the Parents/Meet the Fockers

I first watched Meet the Fockers in theatres back in 2004,  I remember cracking up at Ben Stiller’s clumsiness more than once. Thanks to Netflix, I now have the opportunity to binge-watch both movies back to back. Meeting your girlfriend/boyfriend’s family is always a nerve-racking situation, so if it still hasn’t happened for you, count on Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro to make you even more nervous about it, just saying.

Bring it on

A girl’s night essential, this movie will certainly bring back memories. We all love a good cliché movie once in a while and Kristen Dunst and her pompoms are there to deliver. Cheers!

Whiplash

If you’re looking for something with a little more substance to it, check out Whiplash. The film will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the obsessive and tormented relationship between an apprentice and his mentor. Whiplash explores the intense passion and dedication to one’s art, the kind that takes over your life, and although the storytelling is something magical, it’s also quite tragic.

Jessica Jones

This one is a no-brainer, this Netflix original series has created quite a buzz amongst Marvel fanatics. You don’t need to be a superhero connoisseur to enjoy this captivating show that will leave you wanting more. We’ve seen Kristen Ritter’s funny side in the numerous comedies she’s acted in, but discovering her through such a bold and plucky role is a really great surprise.

New Girl

Season 4 of this popular series is now available, so get ready to laugh! In a nutshell, fans can expect a new love interest for Jess, who I can only imagine will put her in multiple awkward situations. I would expect nothing less from the guys either, with Winston and Coach starting new jobs it won’t be an easy journey.
