Search giant Yahoo has purchased Polyvore, a fashion focused search engine, for $230 million.

In a smart move, Yahoo is now aligning itself with the world of fashion and all the glorious profits that come with it. Although not officially confirmed by the company, reports are flying in that Polyvore now belongs to Yahoo. Polyvore, which launched in 2007 and has since amassed a solid 9 million monthly users, works by allowing visitors to curate different brands and articles of clothing and arrange them into outfits, which can then be purchased through the website.

Yahoo hopes to make more relationships with fashion brands and big names in the industry to drive up profits and have a stake in online retail, which is a large and very profitable market right now.
